W.H.A.T.
Mr. Lawrence Williams, the husband of Tenisha Williams and the father of Trinity Williams and Faith Williams is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. Although he was raised in church, he became very distant and rebellious at the age of 13 years old, after experiencing the divorce of his father and mother. While hanging out with the wrong crowd, Lawrence began to experience drugs; marijuana and alcohol led him to a life of selling marijuana. Lawrence remembers the days of walking the streets selling out for the devil, and although having a pocket full of money, he remembers the jealousy, hate, lies, and scheming that would someday put him in the grave if continued.
Lawrence was also a ladies' man in so many words which lead to a life of sinning against his own body. Through the "GRACE OF GOD" when he wasn't protected, he was protected.
At the age of 18, while sitting in his car getting high, he heard the LORD speaking to him; telling him to put it down now. As he quickly obeyed the LORD's instructions he was lead into the bathroom of his house. After looking at himself in the mirror, Lawrence remembers crying out and ended up surrendering all to the Lord. After surrendering, the Lord saved him. Not long after that Lawrence was arrested due to a warrant out for his arrest. An arrest that would require him to spend an enormous amount of time in jail, but because of what GOD had done to him, in him and for him, he only spent one night in jail.
Since then the Lord has been blessing him and allowed him to go forth with the word and his testimony through music. Now Mr. Williams is a Christian rapper and goes by the name of W.H.A.T. which means, "What Happens At Times." Since then he joined a gospel group called Da Bomb Squad, during the 2 years with the group he has appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel Explosion. He has also ministered with the revelation of his words through rap at various churches in Jacksonville.
W.H.A.T. (now solo) due to GOD's choice, desire is to minister to the youth of today, hoping to bring more young people to Christ by encouraging them not to take the road of drugs, girls, and struggles of the streets through his words of testimony. Because of W.H.A.T.S' strong desire to get the message across to other youth considering taking that route, he has ministered through his words of rap at the World Crime Center in Miami and Tamps, Florida, City Hall of Jacksonville, Florida, and other youth ministry outlets. Genuinely determined to fulfill God's assignment and purpose for his life, W.H.A.T. released his first CD in the year 2002. Mr. Lawrence Williams now known as W.H.A.T. seeks to find and convergence with those who have not come into the full knowledge of God, by showing that GOD can and GOD will, through his ministry of rapping and praising of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
