THE WALK OF FAITH
GOSPEL SINGERS
In 1998, John
Golden brought four women together, Melissa McCarthan, Lauran
Boykins, Dianna Laney and Yvette
Calvin, for the group known then
as the Faith Gospel Singers. Faith
had some of the most anointed singers
and stage presence in the industry.
However in 2000, after the death
of Laura and the marriage of Dianna
to a minister, the Faith Singers
were down to just two vocalists.
Quickly they recruited two new members,
Michael Wilcox and Edward Weston.
The group had a dynamic
sound like no other group known
around Jacksonville, appearing on
well-known entertainment packages
such as the Gospel Keynotes. In
the midst of the success, The Faith Gospel Singers were sent on a test that would prove them worthy of their name.
They lost all of their musicians and were left with only 3 loyal vocalists, Michael, Edward and Yvette.
They believed that God had a plan for them.
In order to reach higher heights, these three singers continued singing acapela, believing
that in order to be called the Faith
Gospel Singers; they probably needed
to walk by faith!
In the year of 2005,
the Walk of Faith Singers was formed.
A new member was recruited by the
name of Dorrell Barry and God has
blessed this group to have some
of the most anointed musicians playing
today. Derek Calvin, pianist (A.K.A
Fingers), and drummer, Dejuan Mills
(A.K.A – MPC), just to name
a few. Walk of Faith is continuing
the work of the ministry through songs of praise and worship. They are now a part of an enormous plan that God has unfolded before their very eyes.
The doors
are open wide to all who want to
hear and experience this group’s
powerfully anointed worship experience.
You are in
for a high time in the Lord, so get
ready! Amen!
