JOY'L

Tanya Joy’L Cox-Thomas, a native of Jacksonville, began singing at Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. at a very young age. While filling several positions in the organization, Joy'L ministered through song every chance she was allowed. This was the start of her great ministry.

During the trying times of her adolescent and young adult life, Joy'L found comfort in sports, music (Paxon Marching Eagles and Bethune-Cookman Marching Wildcats), and singing. She joined a female group named ‘Creativity’ in high school. They performed in several engagements and local community festivities with other well known groups. Creativity also appeared on a local television program, the 'Walter Ponder Show'’.

God surely had His hand on Joy'L’s life. He healed her from all types of illnesses, delivered her from the bondage of sin, and anointed her with a power filled testimony. Joy'L has been married for 7 years (together 9) to former NFL Running Back Malcolm Thomas. They were blessed with 3 beautiful children (Brandon-9, Taylor-4, and Madisyn-2). She also has 2 lovely stepchildren (Kamiah and Malcolm Jr.). She has traveled around the world, was featured in a commercial for Comcast Cable, and won first place in their talent show (Comcast Idle) with her sister Terri McNeal of T-N-T. The both of them went on to win 2nd place in the finals in “Amateur Night at the Ritz Theatre’.

Joy'L's greatest opportunity arrived when she meet Reggie Dantzler, of Dantzler’s Audio. He recorded her very first demo. Moved by the anointing in her voice, Mr. Dantzler introduced her to playwright/producer Michael Matthews. She auditioned and was invited to tour with his gospel play ‘Forbidden Fruit’ on the spot. She was brought on as a background singer and performed a role in the play as ‘Bacteria’. Actress Beverly Todd directed the play. Joy'L worked closely with James Avery, Todd Bridges, Angela Winbush, and Marla Gibbs.

Joy'L is a Woman of God that you need to look out for. She will minister to you through her testimonies God has delivered her through. Without shame, Joy'L will expose the tricks of the enemy, help heal the broken hearted, and pull her brothers and sisters out of the webs of sin with God’s anointing.
